Castillo Monjardín - Crianza 2002

The grapes come from the vineyards “La Grande”, “Carasoles” y “Cañas”. This area is ideal to grow red grapes; the soils are a compound of limestone and clay. The traditional treatment that this wine has undergone has been minimal, so as to preserve all the original qualities of this noble grape variety. The wines matured in barrels of French and American oak for 12 months. Cabernet provides structure; Merlot brings a velvet smoothness and Tempranillo a unique personality. Bright ruby red. A generous and distinctive bouquet. Redcurrant, raspberry, vanilla on the nose, with a subtle touch of quality oak. In the mouth it offers structure of firm but ripe tannins to support its deep, richly textured fruit.

Castillo Monjardín - Chardonnay 2005

Chardonnay is a classic grape variety, responsible for producing the greatest white wines and champagne in the world. This wine, from a single-vineyard, is a clear example of Chardonnay from a cold climate area. The grapes were picked at night in low temperatures at the end of September. The must fermented at 18ºC in stainless steel vats. Bright yellow with green tinges. An intense fresh and fruity aroma with hints of citrus, green apples that is accentuated on the palate. Full in the mouth, long in the palate.
